What Your Workspace Says About You

You are generally fairly organized, but you have occasional slip ups. You find keeping organized challenging.

You are hardworking and driven. You have an excellent work ethic.

You feel like you neglect your family and friends when you’re working. You may work a bit too much.

You are still trying to figure out your ideal career. You could quit your current job on any given day.

At work, you are an introvert. You don’t like people coming around your work space.

Agree, Agree! I find it super annoying when someone is hovering at my back when I am working constantly checking in on what I’m doing. I don’t watch porn or anything ha!! It just feels weird being ‘watched’.

I prefer being alone/left alone/never bothered when I am working. Don’t you?

You’ve Got Mail

Posted by Vanessa on July 4, 2008

Guess what will come in 5 months and 21 days? Christmas! The happiest and most anticipated holiday of kids and kids at heart. Why not? Christmas means family, friends, food and most especially presents.

Santa Baby
Santa Baby

I remember way back when I was a kid, I’d try my hardest to stay awake on Christmas midnight just to see Santa Claus sneaking in my presents. I never really caught him because I always fell asleep by 9PM. But when I wake up the next day, I remember the happiness I felt seeing wonderfully wrapped presents under our Christmas tree. Even our Christmas stockings were stuffed with toys, candy, money and inserted also with a Letter from Santa (a.k.a Mom & Dad).

Years passed and I grew up, now that I have a child of my own, I want him to have a memorable Christmas like what I had. I want him to feel the magic of Christmas and to believe in St. Nick so that he’ll be inspired to be good all year round.

I want my little boy to experience a kind of happiness on Christmas that he will remember until he grows up. That’s why when I heard of personalized Letters from Santa complete with North pole stamps, a glossy red package with gold foil shipping label I was intrigued to look into it.

Imagine waking up come Christmas morning getting your very own personalized Santa Letters, Nice Certificate, Letter from Rudolph, a greeting from Santa himself on a CD and to top it off, an authentic collector’s piece of Santa’s Red Suit? There’s no doubt in any kids mind that Santa is indeed real.

Order your very own personalized letter now, some of these items are in very limited supply and may be out of stock when December comes by. It’s not too early to be prepared for our kids. The excitement and awe in our childrens’ eyes are guaranteed. After all, someone has to play SANTA.

Mom In Eiffel Tower, Paris, France

I’ve always dreamed of going to Europe for a vacation. Sadly, we have not saved enough to afford such a vacation. So for now, it will remain a dream for me. But for my mom, that dream became a reality last month when she was funded by my father to join a tour group all over Europe. She came home 3 weeks after full of stories to share and pictures to show!

They went to Paris, Spain, Portugal and Italy. They even went for short Rome city breaks. It was like heaven for her because mom is religious and really wanted to see Rome. Oh, what a vacation is was for mom. I really did envy her.

She mentioned that you can go all around UK for short breaks with cheap flights & eurostar. Know what eurostar is? It’s a train service connecting the UK with Paris (Gare du Nord), Lille and Brussels (Brussels Midi/Zuid) since November 2004.

In need of cheap short breaks for yourself? A honeymoon maybe? Or for the adventure of travelling to different places? Check out Directline City Breaks for you most unforgettable weekend break. They are combine eurostar & cheap flights with hand-picked hotels in more than 50 cities to offer cheap weekend getaways worth remembering.

Watch out UK, here I come.

Nobody told me…

Posted by Vanessa on July 3, 2008

…that I’d be changed forever.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

I was sorting out old photos of myself when I was still single and although I look more or less the same with long hair and darker skin tone I feel like a totally different person.

The day after I had Joshua, the fact that I was already a mom has not really sunk in yet. It was like there’s me Van & there’s someone else - a mom; except that’s still me. Confusing?

After some time those two entities merged & it became a different person. Mommy Van. Nobody prepared me for that mind altering fact. I’ve become a new person. A new outlook in life, a different mind-set and set new priorities. It feels as if my heart is outside of my body and every move my baby makes is a milestone. When I decide, I always think of the baby’s welfare first before my own.

Any mother would agree.

******************

Now, everybody is telling me to STOP breastfeeding my 23-month old son. I want to really, but he kisses me & says a-poo (love you) when he wants to be nursed. Tell me, can you say no to that?

Looking for a Job?

Posted by Vanessa on July 3, 2008

During my fifth year on college, as our final report, we were to submit a feasibility study on a our own business, may it be manufacturing or not. My group mates JR, Diane and I collectively decided that we wanted to make a feasibility study on a Recruitment Agency. Our study focused more one the recruitment of professional household helpers of the upper class.

It was a good idea but looking back now, I realized we should have broadened our agency’s scope and included jobs such as Office Jobs and more. I have looked for a successful recruitment agency online and found Tate, a specialist in office recruitment. They have been around since 1985 and because of the company’s strong passion and excellence has grown to have 19 offices all over UK.

They specialize in job placement for Receptionist Jobs, Secretaries, Administrator, PA Jobs , Customer Service and Data Entry Staff. Right now, these jobs are highly in demand and most companies are in need of office staff. So if you’re looking for a job, in between jobs or just want to be included in Tate’s personnel pool, check them out now.

It’s worth a try right?

Baby Things.

Posted by Vanessa on July 3, 2008

PhotobucketMy son has been using his GRACO stroller since he was born. It was a wonderful gift from his Ninang Sugar. I loved how it was sturdy and easy to handle. I never really got to ask his Ninang where she got the stroller but I was looking online for something similar.

You know, once we have the 2nd baby (hopefully girl!!!) I want to invest in a good baby pram for her. I want to have an all in one luxury system this time. I want it to be complete and easy to handle because that’s one very essential requirement for moms!

My friend recently gave birth and I told her about BabyThings4U, its a great site to shop online for baby equipment & nursery essentials. Since my friend was looking for a cheap baby pushchair I instantly told her to check out the site for great deals. They have an ongoing promotion now and it would be easy to browse around the site for her preferred brand.

There are many brands to choose from, Chicco, Fisher-Price, Graco, Obaby, Disney baby and more. What’s good about this site is that you can easily cancel orders if you change your mind or you can return item if it is damaged. Goods will be delivered 3-5 working days after purchased is made. Check their site out begin choosing for your baby now.

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758…If you haven’t, add 1757.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number, The first digit of this was your original number. (I.e., How many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)

Protect Your Income.

Posted by Vanessa on July 2, 2008

Question: Could you afford to live without your income? Are you the breadwinner of the family? Does your family rely on your monthly salary to live by?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then read on.

Have you ever heard the term disability insurance? Basically, it pays an insured person an income when that person is unable to work because of an accident or illness. For example, if you are a doctor and you have a physician disability insurance you have the benefit of receiving income when you are proven to be disabled and cannot anymore perform the major duties of your occupation. For a surgeon, a simple hand injury can lead to total disability. His hand is his life right? Remember Dr. Burke of Grey’s Anatomy?

Why is it important to get a disability insurance you ask. Well for practical purposes. We never know what accidents may fall on us through the course of our lives. We may have an accident and live through it but there’s a possibility of not getting into our 100% shape. We may not be able to go back to work or find any work for that matter. So its a safe bet, start protecting your income right now.
